As per sources, 2 thousand doses of AstraZeneca vaccines will be handed over to the north of Cyprus next week through the bicommunal Technical Committee for Health. It has further been confirmed that the north of Cyprus will receive 75 thousand rapid tests through the Republic of Cyprus, as soon as the relevant batch arrives from the European Union.
Greek Cypriot Co-Chairman of the Committee, Leonidas Phylactou stated that rapid tests were discussed in a teleconference held on Friday with his Turkish Cypriot counterpart Cenk Soydan as well as experts where they informed the north of Cyprus of all the necessary information.
According to Phylactou the general discussion was regarding the use of PCR tests for individuals considered to be close contacts of Covid-19 cases, as well as for patients who contracted coronavirus.
