Çavuşoğlu – “Turkish Cypriots Have Their Own State That Functions As A Living Democracy”

Speaking at the 46th United Nations Human Rights Council via videoconference on Monday, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu stated that Turkish Cypriots continue to be subjected to unfair isolation an inhumane embargoes despite all their efforts towards finding a solution in Cyprus. 

Çavuşoğlu added that Turkey will continue its work for the protection of human rights, particularly the rights of Turkish Cypriots and saying that “… despite these pressures, the Turkish Cypriots have their own state that functions as a living democracy. Turkey will continue to work with the council to protect and promote human rights for all …”.
