According to charts released by the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC), Cyprus comes second in the European Union for vaccination of people over the age of 80, achieving its first objectives when it comes to vaccination: vaccinating a vulnerable group of citizens at increased risk for serious illness and hospitalization.

As of Saturday, February 20, a total of 58,490 vaccinations were given, of which 19,221 concerned individuals who had completed their vaccination with both doses of the vaccine. At the same time, the Ministry of Health is continuing its vaccination program of health professionals, vulnerable groups and the elderly, with the aim of administering the first dose to the age group of 70 years and over within the next two weeks.
