Tatar Gives Erhürman Mandate to Form “Government”

According to sources from the north of Cyprus, the effort to form a new “government” is still currently ongoing, with Turkish Cypriot leader Ersin Tatar handing over the mandate to form it to the head of the Republican Turkish Party (CTP) Tufan Erhürman on Monday.

Tatar had previously handed over the mandate to National Unity Party (UBP) leader Ersan Saner who handed back the mandate after failing to form the new coalition despite meeting with all the political parties.

Erhürman will begin his efforts tomorrow (Tuesday) to form the new coalition after receiving the approval of his party during its assembly tonight.
