Tatar: “The Existence of Two States at the Island of Cyprus is an Undeniable Truth”

According to news sources from the north of Cyprus, Turkish Cypriot leader Ersin Tatar met with UK Foreign Ministry High Official Ajay Sharma, High Commissioner to Cyprus Stephen Lillie as well the commission alongside them.

As part of the meeting, Tatar stated that the Turkish Cypriot side is currently preparing for the upcoming informal meeting and that they are partaking in consultations both internally and externally. Tatar informed the officials that peace, stability, and cooperation at the island of Cyprus and in the region will only be possibly if an agreement is reached based on the independence of both states, equality, and equal international status.

Tatar further added that both sides had already expressed that the current status quo is unacceptable nor sustainable, that the existence of two states at the island of Cyprus is an undeniable reality and that stability and cooperation will only exist in the instance that this reality is accepted.
