Tatars Words Spark Controversy: “What Was I Going To Do? I Was Going To Call My President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. And That Is What I Did”

Turkish Cypriot leader Ersin Tatar sparked controversy on social media last night during his speech at the opening of the Emergency Hospital in the north of Cyprus when Tatar stated: “… what was I going to do? I was going to call my President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. And that is what I did …”. 

Tatar spoke on the difficulties faced in the creation of the hospital and stated that: “… despite instructing architectural engineers and all the authorities to draw up this project [of the hospital] and to start the bidding process, this project was somehow not created. What was I going to do? I was going to call my President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. And that is what I did. I said: my honorable President I am In need. The TRNC needs its motherland! …”.
